Motor sport is a very mentally demanding activity, Most sports enable
breaks in concentration between points or periods of activity. Motor sport
generally requires prolonged periods of highgtened contentration and attention
switching.
Your eyes and brain can be trained to be better at the skills required
of elite driving. This can be done on the track, but additional techniques
can supplement this development process.
As well as this rehearsed development, psychology comes into many other
aspects of driving. Your beliefs, attitudes and ultimately your thoughts
can be major derterminants in whether your perform consistently or irratically.
Training on these area can make you a better driver by making you reach
your peak more often and therefore performing better over the season.
You must really know yourself to drive to an elite level. You must be
in tune with both your body and mind, so that you can adjust your thoughts
and actions to keep you in that zone of optimum arousal and peak concentration.
Our pschologists can use physiological measures to track your arousal
and performance relationships. They can then provide you with techniques
to enable you to monitor and review your psychological state and then
adjust it in line with where you know it should be.
